Mike Hostick

I didn’t realize when I walked in on the first day as an investment firm intern during college that the experience would help determine and define my future career. But, after only a few months working for and learning from seasoned advisors, it became crystal clear; I knew what I wanted to do with my life and I never looked back. I have now been in the financial industry for more than 20 years and have gained valuable insight and knowledge working for a number of firms in a variety of capacities.

In October 2019, I proudly founded Live Oak Investment Partners, LLC with the dream of being truly independent and developing financial plans for my clients that are the absolute best for THEM and not a large firm. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know all of my clients – their passions, their fears, their visions for their future. This is what drives me and my team to come to work every day. I feel extremely fortunate to develop these strong client relationships by truly listening and collaborating to reach their financial goals.

I received my BBA from St. Edward’s University in Austin and was a member of both the soccer and rugby teams (Go Hilltoppers!). My wife, Meredith, and I met during college and have two children, Matthew and Caroline. Matthew is currently attending Indiana University and studying finance at the Kelly School of Business. Caroline is currently attending Westlake High School and plays both school and club volleyball. We live near our office in West Lake Hills and love spending time together traveling the world, cheering on our favorite teams, watching funny movies, swimming and cooking out in the backyard, and playing (quite competitively) all kinds of games.
